Join us for the bi-annual Your Breakout Book Virtual Conference! The theme of this event is Writing for Readers and will focus on how authors like you can leverage their writing skills to reach more readers. This includes writing op-eds and guest articles, newsletters, social media content, even pitch emails to media contacts or query letters to agents.
The Your Breakout Book conference is now a workshop format. We’ve spent a lot of time learning new skills and concepts, but I know it can be difficult to put what you’ve learned into action. Not only do you have to carve out the time, it’s easy to question whether or not you’re on the right track.
Our day-long workshop event will not only provide information; it will carve out the time necessary to put that information into action.
All times listed below are in CST
Independent Study
Participants will take the Your Author Brand e-course over the course of this week to identify, create, and establish their unique author brands. The full course takes about 3 hours to complete, so you can choose to block off a chunk of time or spread it out throughout the week. By the end of the course, you’ll have your tagline and brand summary ready to workshop!
Author Brand Roundtable + Happy Hour
You’ve created your author brand, now it’s time to celebrate…and receive some feedback. We’ll gather on zoom in small breakout sessions to workshop our taglines and brand summaries with our fellow attendees. We’ll also have a “fan favorite” prize for the group’s favorite tagline!
Live Workshops
Now that you’ve finalized your Author Brand, it’s time to leverage your writing skills to establish your brand and reach more readers. This full day of workshops will teach you how to write journalism pieces that attract new readers, write newsletters your subscribers love to read (and that you may even love to write!), and how to re-purpose that newsletter into week’s worth of social media content.
Our presenters will lead you through the interactive workshop and provide plenty of time to brainstorm, write, and receive feedback.

The Your Breakout Book conference is ideal for anyone who is currently writing a book, has written or published a book, or has published numerous books. These workshops will benefit writers at all stages of the publishing process, whether they’re querying agents or publicizing their next book.
Your Breakout Book is a conference for authors, regardless of their stage in publishing.
If you’ve been attending webinars and virtual conferences throughout the pandemic (or even before), chances are, you don’t need more information. Instead, what you need is time and guidance to put that information into action. The workshop leaders will not only teach you the tactics and strategies, they’ll also give you space to implement those techniques and receive real-time feedback.
Participants will have access to the replay indefinitely. If you post your questions in advance, our speakers will answer them during the session and their responses will be time-stamped so you can easily jump to their response.
However, when you join live, you can take advantage of receiving feedback on your work in real time, so we encourage you to make every effort to attend live.
The speakers of the Your Breakout Book conference are compensated directly. They will not be spending the majority of the session pitching you their services. Many of the free virtual summits are ways for speakers to increase their email list and pitch their products or services. That’s not what this event is about.
By paying a small fee, you are ensuring that our guest experts are fairly compensated and their sessions consist of valuable information rather than sales pitches. As they say, “If you’re not paying for the product, YOU are the product.”
